First OnBoard

Are you interested in serving on a nonprofit board?  Is your agency seeking board members?

Throughout Palm Beach County there are thousands of nonprofit organizations providing services to children and families, seniors, the homeless, and individuals with disabilities.  Many of these nonprofit agencies are meeting needs that the public and private sectors are not able or willing to address.  The nonprofits in our community are governed by dedicated boards of directors who volunteer their time, talent and treasure to support their agency’s mission and vision. The roles and responsibilities of these board members are extremely important for setting the strategic direction for the organization, sustaining fiscal viability, and monitoring program outcomes.

The nonprofit and for-profit sectors are different in many ways, yet similar in the need for accountable, quality leadership.  The mission of Nonprofits First is to promote quality and accountability in our nonprofit community through leadership development, education and management services. In keeping with our mission, we offer First OnBoard to prepare individuals and business associates in the community to serve as valuable and engaged members of a nonprofit board in Palm Beach County. We work collaboratively with nonprofit agencies to identify board placement opportunities that would be attractive to prospective board members.
