GoBuild Capacity Overview - This program is closed to new applicants

 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families awarded thirty-two 2009 Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) awards for the purpose of delivering capacity building services to faith-based and community organizations through the provision of training, technical assistance, and sub-awards.  Capacity building activities will be offered to faith-based and community organizations in four critical areas: 1) leadership development, 2) organizational development, 3) program development, and 4) community engagement. Capacity building activities are designed to increase an organization's sustainability and effectiveness, enhance its ability to provide social services, and create collaborations to better serve those most in need.

With the support of this Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) Demonstration Program, Nonprofits First will be able to provide eligible faith-based and community organizations with varied capacity building support including:

  • Core Competency Training  in board governance, financial management, human resource management, program planning and evaluation, community engagement,  and disaster preparedness
  • Organization Assessment  to determine priority capacity building needs and Technical Assistance  in areas such as: IT, financial management, human resources services; and leadership development.
  • Sub-Awards – financial awards up to $10,000 for products and services beyond the scope of direct project activities that  enhance or complement capacity building strategies  and that further the sustainability of the recipient organizations
