FAQ Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration Program
Q: What is the Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) Demonstration Program?
A: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families awarded thirty-two 2009 Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) awards for the purpose of delivering capacity building services to faith-based and community organizations through the provision of training, technical assistance, and sub-awards. Capacity building activities will be offered to faith-based and community organizations in four critical areas:
1) leadership development
2) organizational development
3) program development
4) community engagement
Capacity building activities are designed to increase an organization's sustainability and effectiveness, enhance its ability to provide social services, and create collaborations to better serve those most in need.

A: The training requirements will be determined by the technical assistance specialist based upon the “Action Plan” created, guided by the organizational Self-Assessment.
Q: Who will be required to participate in the organizational self-assessment?
A: All agencies that qualify for one-on-one technical assistance will be required to participate in the organizational assessment.

A: The GoBuild Capacity project is adopting a tool especially designed for nonprofit organizational assessment called the CCAT (Core Competency Assessment Tool).
Q: Who participates in the CCAT from the agency?
A: Ideally, senior management plus at least two board members should complete the CCAT to generate a realistic assessment. At a minimum, three organizational members must take the CCAT.
Q: How long does the CCAT take to complete?
A: The CCAT is a web-based tool which will take approximately 40 minutes to complete. All responses are confidential.
Q: What if I do not have access to the web?
