Now I Can Hear You: PBC Nonprofit Leaders Community Engagement Project February- May
Now I Can Hear You prepares leading PBC nonprofits to use democratic participatory principles in community dialogue. Participants learn to bridge gaps in communication and accountability between organizations and citizens, leading to improved transparency, public inclusiveness and shred decision making. By engagement community stakeholders in a variety of channels including in person and online, boards of directors and agency leadership will have up-to-date crucial information for planning programs and seeking support. Equally important, this program creates opportunities for PBC citizens to have their voices heard by communicating directly with those nonprofits who facilitate community-informed change. Now I Can Hear You has 3 components: 1) group instruction in technology, social media, impact advocacy, public participation & issues framing; 2) moderated participant discussion in facility introduced topics via asynchronous online forums; and 3) a capstone project where senior leaders and staff host online deliberate polling with stakeholders to identify major issues for organizations to address and create specific opportunities for civil engagement.
