Jessica Cecere, has been involved in nonprofit leadership for more than 29 years.  She is currently the CEO of Nonprofits First, Inc. Ms. Cecere is also a small business owner, consultant, and active community volunteer.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University in 1986.   

Ms. Cecere is an expert in nonprofit management, board governance and personal finance and has appeared in numerous local and national publications. Cecere has been a long time local television media source in the area of credit and personal finance, as well as, a past guest host on Clear Channel Radio’s WJNO morning news.

Jessica Cecere has a extensive history of community involvement and board service with nonprofit and community organizations.  She is currently a board member of the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, the Better Business Bureau and Palm Beach County Central Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Delferine Spooner is a Certified Public Accountant that has been providing financial and administrative services to nonprofit organizations  for over 20 years.  Delferine has worked as an Auditor, Controller, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Financial Operations.  She is an expert in nonprofit financial management and has worked for /with many nonprofits in Palm Beach County.

 

 

Josh Hirsch has worked in the nonprofit sector since 2006 with a focus on educational philanthropy for both public charter and independent private schools. He has an extensive background in social media, digital communications, and marketing along with experience in grant research and writing, individual giving, special event planning, stewardship and cultivation of donors. He is past Communications Chair of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Palm Beach County chapter. Josh is also a member of the AFPeeps; the social media vanguard for the AFP International Conference on Fundraising and other AFP initiatives. Josh previously served as the Marketing Chair for the AFP Florida Caucus’ 2014 Planet Philanthropy conference and was the Director of Social Media for TEDxBocaRaton 2015. He has spoken nationally on social media, and has had numerous articles published in professional journals. Josh has a Certificate in Strategic Fundraising and Philanthropy from Bay Path College. He received a Master of Science in Family, Youth and Community Sciences from the University of Florida and received a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Florida. He is a graduate of NonProfits First's Sustainability and Social Enterprise Institute.

Kim Harty is the CEO of Changing Tides Consulting, a nonprofit coaching and consulting company. She spent over 20 years of her career as a CEO of membership based nonprofits, mostly YMCAs.  These nonprofits all required extensive financial development skills.  Fundraising was a key component of the survival and growth of these organizations. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a master’s degree in Human Services Administration and Organizational Leader from YMCA of the USA. 
Kim will share the key components to fundraising using the donor-centered approach with exercises specific to your organization.

 

Jim Sugarman, graduate in social work from the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration, has been an Executive Director, Development Director, consultant and mentor in nonprofit organizations and works as Certified Life Coach.  For over 40 years he has been in leadership roles with nonprofits for agencies, including CAP of PBC, American Lung Association and as Executive Director of the West Palm Beach Library Foundation. In NYC he ran the largest senior volunteer program in the country with over 10,000 volunteers and helped develop senior volunteer programs in over 40 countries.  He served as a volunteer mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and served and serves on boards for Clinics Can Help, Area Agency on Aging (ADRC), PBC Medical Society Services, Leadership PBC, VSAarts in PBC and Rotary Club of West Palm Beach. He received numerous awards and in the spring of 2014, Leadership PBC honored him with their Leadership Excellence Award and also that spring he was awarded “The Fearless Caregiver Award.”

Mr. John Foley has been practicing law since 1988.  He received his B.A. from the University of Miami and his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.  Mr. Foley’s practice is limited to representation of nonprofit organizations in all areas of operation with an emphasis on labor and employment, human resources, governance, corporate law and transactional matters.

Mr. Foley runs the Legal Aid Society’s very successful Non-Profit Legal Assistance Project, which has held a prominent position in the Palm Beach County nonprofit community for almost 20 years.  Mr. Foley currently provides in-house counsel services to over 50 local nonprofit organizations, and regularly offers pro bono services to dozens more.
