Topics of discussion will include: Timing and scope of the audit, receivable/support schedule, prepaid expense schedule, fixed asset roll-forward, accrued expenses, net asset classification and tracking, and functional expense allocation.

David is the Managing Partner of Holyfield & Thomas, LLC, and brings his financial background and business-perspective as the lead partner on many of the firm’s audit, tax, and accounting engagements.  David leads the firm’s day-to-day operations and serves as a mentor for the firm’s professional staff.  He is active with many professional, civic, and non-profit organizations and serves on the board of several such organizations in the community. David and his family reside in Palm Beach Gardens.





Elizabeth “Beth” Stevens is an Audit Supervisor at Holyfield & Thomas, LLC. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Elizabeth was an Audit Manager in the South Florida practice of a Big 4 accounting firm and was the Corporate Accountant of a national pathology diagnostics company. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Florida with her Bachelor of Accounting and from Florida Atlantic University with her Master of Accounting. She is a CPA in the State of Florida and a member of the AICPA and FICPA. Elizabeth was recognized as one of the FICPA’s Top 26 Under 36 and a FICPA Women to Watch nominee. Elizabeth has served in many not-for-profit leadership roles, including President of the Junior League of the Palm Beaches, and currently serves on the Quantum House Advisory Council.





Paul Bertoni joined the firm in 2008 and is currently a supervisor in the audit department.  With his comprehensive audit experience, Paul is a resource to the clients he serves by meeting the unique needs and challenges of the firm’s cornerstone industries, including not-for-profit, employee benefit plan, country club, small business, and religious organizations. Paul is a team leader for the training and professional development of the staff and senior auditors at Holyfield & Thomas, LLC. As a member of the firm’s industry knowledge team, Paul has presented to the not-for-profit community on industry relevant topics including FASB’s Accounting Standards Update (ASU) 2016-14, Presentation of Financial Statements of Not-for-Profit Entities, Audit Preparation, and Not-for-Profit Accounting Updates. A native of Canada, Paul graduated from Lake Superior State University with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. Prior to joining Holyfield & Thomas, LLC, Paul gained valuable audit and assurance experience while working for a national public accounting firm in Ontario. While working for the national firm, Paul was recognized awards on three separate occasions for outstanding audit work.
