Indirect cost allocations remain a top concern for many nonprofit organizations. Indirect cost allocation can be confusing but understanding how to allocate these costs is crucial in order for an organization to accurately capture and recover costs incurred. This presentation will include strategies for developing methods for proper allocations between direct and indirect costs, allocating costs for grants, and best practices for documenting the methodologies.

Marc Grace, C.P.A., Partner

Marc Grace has extensive experience managing nonprofit audit engagements. He provides guidance on accounting and auditing, compliance audits, internal control assessments and financial reporting. Marc has assisted nonprofits and other entities in planning for and implementing new pronouncements.  He regularly attends and speaks at seminars dealing with accounting and audit problems, reporting and disclosure issues. Marc is actively involved in training for the professional staff and is responsible for developing internal training programs for the nonprofit sector, financial reporting and operational matters. Marc is a graduate of Leadership Broward Class XXXVI and currently is a board member of Equine Assisted Therapies of South Florida, Inc. 




Israel Gomez, C.P.A., Audit Partner

Israel Gomez has managed large and complex audit engagements in the nonprofit sector.  He is experienced and qualified with respect to “Yellow Book”, Uniform Guidance and Rules of the Auditor General of the State of Florida compliance audit reporting.  He has assisted nonprofit entities with implementing new pronouncements, internal control assessments and improvements to accounting systems.  He has been a speaker at various seminars pertaining to new accounting standards and internal controls over financial reporting. Israel is a graduate of Leadership Broward Class XXXV and currently serves as the Board Treasurer of The Leadership Broward Foundation.
